HOUSTON, TEXAS — On Friday, August 14, 2026, Ascension Chinese Mission 美華天主堂 Catholic Church celebrated an exciting milestone with the groundbreaking of its new Activity Center in Houston.
Paradigm Construction is honored to serve as the general contractor for the project, partnering with Ascension Chinese Mission Catholic Church, the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, and Studio RED Architects to bring the church’s vision for its growing community to life.
The groundbreaking brought together parishioners, church leadership, project partners, and members of the community to commemorate the beginning of construction. Held on the eve of the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, celebrated on August 15, the occasion marked a meaningful new chapter for the parish and its continued ministry in Houston.
Creating Space for Faith, Fellowship, and Community
As Houston’s only Chinese Catholic parish, Ascension Chinese Mission Catholic Church serves a diverse community rooted in faith, cultural heritage, and a commitment to welcoming all as family.
The project includes the construction of a new Activity Center, along with renovations to the church’s existing facility. These improvements will provide additional space for fellowship, education, worship, and community programs, expanding the ways Ascension can serve its parishioners and the surrounding community for generations to come.
The new and renovated spaces are designed to support Ascension’s continued growth while strengthening the sense of community that has long been central to the parish.
